Dr David Fairclough has been practicing as an osteopath on humans for over 18 years. After completing a two year post graduate programme in animal biomechanical medicine, Dr David Fairclough local osteopath in the Macedon Ranges, is now available to treat your beloved animal friend. Whether they are a performance horse, paddock mate, agility dog or couch pooch they all deserve to be kept in the peak of health.  Just like humans, animals also have problems with their musculo-skeletal system, which often manifests itself in lameness, sore limbs and spinal problems. As humans we have many choices of therapeutic treatment ranging from various modalities such as their GP, osteopath or chiropractor. Now animal owners can have more options.

Animal biomechanical medicine has evolved through the interaction of an innovative and open minded group of professionals. ABM is a post graduate diploma which is run over two years and all members are registered professionals, veterinarians, human registered osteopaths and chiropractors.  The core principle of ABM is the identification of biomechanical dysfunction anywhere in the body and then using the application of therapies most often manually to return the patient’s body to the best possible function. ABM treatment scope ranges from manipulation of joints, through to a large range of soft tissue and release techniques, to non-force neurological influencing techniques such as fascial and respiratory releases.

“Ranges Animal Biomechanical Medicine” is a new business based in Newham victoria that will be providing various treatment techniques suitable for animals using osteopathic technique as a major component.
